Bruin Football Gets Set for Booker T.

There was some big news across the state of Oklahoma sports-wise on Tuesday night, and it involved Bartlesville High in a roundabout way.

Dax Hill, one of the highest football recruits out of the state in some time, has verbally committed to Michigan. Dax is the younger brother of Oklahoma State running back Justice Hill, who has led the Big 12 in rushing over the past two years.

The younger Hill is the first five-star recruit the state of Oklahoma has produced since 2006, according to Rivals.com, a popular college recruiting service. Dax is a senior defensive back at Booker T. Washington, and that is who Bartlesville plays on Thursday night.

The Bruins are getting set for a battle against the defending 6A-II State Champions on the north side of Tulsa.

Booker T. is surprisingly under .500 at 1-2 on the year. The Hornets have lost two games outside of the state of Oklahoma, and have also scrapped past Bishop Kelley for their one win. It is still a squad that returns half their starters from a season ago, and has four or five high-profile NCAA D-I athletes.

We will preview Bartlesville and Booker T. on Wednesday evening during another installment of the Bartlesville Coach’s Show with Bruin head coach Lee Blankenship.

That will air from 6-7 at Hideaway Pizza in downtown Bartlesville.

If you can’t make it out, listen in on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. It is also available online at BartlesvilleRadio.com and on the Bartlesville Radio App.

Kick off between the Hornets and Bruins will be Thursday night at 7:00, pregame at 6:30 also on KWON.
