Bruins Return to Athletics Going Well

We are just about to wrap up the first full week of athletic workouts at Bartlesville High School, as the Bruins took to the weight room starting on Monday for their first officially sanctioned activities since March.

As of right now, there are only 16 guys or girls allowed into the weight facility at one time.

For the Bruin football program, attendance has been fantastic.

Bartlesville head football coach Jason Sport says that 95 guys have been attending the workouts in their staggered fashion. He says that he can tell they’ve put in work without the coaches watching, too.

Sport gave a lot of credit to how well the workouts are going to a strong 2021 senior class. 22 of the 95 guys that have been working out will be seniors with Bartlesville this fall. Sport says that is a large class, and that it will help out Bruin football this fall.

As far as football activities, Sport says nothing is planned in stone at this time. Bartlesville will not move into phase two of its athletics reopening plan until early July, then the district will reassess.

Sport says he knows some guys have been doing some football specific workouts on their own.
