Bruins Take Game 1 in ConocoPhillips Arvest

It was three-pointer after three-pointer for the Enid Plainsmen on Thursday night at Bruin Fieldhouse.

Enid hit nine threes in the second half to make the Plainsmen's opening game against Bartlesville a close one, but the Bruins held on. BHS won its first game in the ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational 53-47. Bartlesville will face Southmoore on Friday night at 7:00 in the tournament semifinals.

Enid cut the lead to four in the fourth quarter, and then six in the final minute, before an Andrew Gronigan steal led to a Barron Tanner bucket that sealed the BHS win. Tanner finished with 20 points unofficially, as did fellow senior AJ Archambo.

The Bruins (4-3) looked how head coach Clent Stewart envisioned them in the first quarter on Thursday - creating turnovers, making quick buckets, and sprinting out to an 18-4 lead over Enid. Although the offense slowed, it is good news for a team that has been looking to push the pace in recent weeks.

KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3 will carry the Bruins vs the Sabercats with pregame at 6:45 on Friday night. You can also listen online at BartlesvilleRadio.com.
