Collinsville - Bruins Clash in Scrimmage

Bartlesville High will have its first action against players not wearing powder blue or navy blue on Friday evening.

BHS will take on Collinsville, a 5A football powerhouse, in its first and only scrimmage of 2017. It is a 7:00 start in Collinsville. The Cardinals will provide a big test for the Bruins. Collinsville is coming off a 9-3 season and a loss deep in the 5A playoffs.

Collinsville returns Grayson Boomer, brother of University of Tulsa quarterback Seth Boomer. Grayson is a junior tight end with a laundry list of offers from D-I NCAA schools. The Cardinals have five starters back on offense, with a majority of defensive guys back, too.

BHS Athletic Director Ryan Huff talks about the mindset of the football program going into the scrimmage.

All eyes will be on the quarterback position for Bartlesville. The Bruins will go with both Taton Hopkins and Noah Sunday - with the players alternating snaps. The winner of that position battle will start week one against McAlester.

Tom Beard, Lucas Hammack and Brady Wano will be some of the key returners on defense for the Bruins. DeAndre Young is the main returner on offense out of the running back position.
