Bartlesville is going to play host to a big-time tournament for a good cause later this month.

The Midwest Regional Cricket Tournament will take place at the Daniel’s Fields starting on Friday Aug. 30.

The city has had one of the best cricket facilities in the region since it was finished up in the spring of last year.

This cricket tournament will be free to the public, with donations, concessions, t-shirts and other items benefitting the Washington County SPCA’s new building fund. Bartlesville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Maria Swindell Gus talks more about the event.

The closest comparable cricket pitches in the region would be in Kansas City or Houston.

The Bartlesville Cricket Club will also be competing in the event.
