Dewey Celebrates Homecoming Victory

It was a happy Homecoming Friday night at Bulldoggers Stadium as the Dewey Bulldoggers picked up their second district win of the season with a 39-7 victory over Tulsa Webster.  The Doggers led 6-0 after the first quarter and put up 27 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 33-0 lead at halftime.  Dewey's defense played their best game of the year by giving up 182 yards, just shutting out the Warriors offense.  The Doggers put up 426 yards of total offense.

Dewey's quarterback Blake Timmons went 17 of 26 passing for 234 yards and two touchdowns and an interception.  Cole Hawkins rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Brandon Phelps scored on a 60 yard touchdown pass from Timmons and even scored on a 30 yard fumble recovery.  Dewey finished the evening with nine penalities for 84 yards.  Overall, it was a team effort.

Webster falls to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in district play while Dewey improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in district play.  It was the fourth straight loss for the Warriors.

Next up for the Doggers is Thursday, October 20th at Verdigris.  Kickoff is set for 7 o'clock.
