Dewey Football Hot Going to Vinita

Most high school football teams across Northeast Oklahoma will be in action for Week Three tomorrow night.

Dewey is one of the hottest teams in the area. The Doggers are 2-1 after two blowout wins against local teams. Dewey has steamrolled Nowata and Pawhuska in back-to-back contests. The Doggers run game has been key in both those wins. Friday night, Dewey travels to Vinita to take on the Hornets. Dewey head coach Tyler Caid says that he wants his team to get tough with Vinita.

Friday night’s game will be the last non-district game for the Doggers. District play for Dewey will begin on Sept. 22 with a home game against Mannford.

A few other high school football notes locally:

Bartlesville High is pretty much the only area team that will not play on Friday. The Bruins are on a bye.

We will have Nowata and Pawhuska on the radio dial for you tomorrow evening with our usual post-game coverage. We will have a full rundown of all the local games and previews coming up at BartlesvilleRadio.com
