Dewey Splits At Claremore-Sequoyah
The Dewey Bulldoggers and Lady Doggers were in action Saturday afternoon at Claremore as they took on the Eagles. The Lady Doggers fell short 50-29 while the Doggers got back in the winning track with a 63-50 victory. The Lady Doggers never really got on track in the game. Lady Eagles led 27-17 at halftime and outscored Dewey 23-12 in the second half to get the win. Kaleigh Hinkle led Dewey with eight points. In the boys game, Claremore-Sequoyah stayed tough in the entire game, but it was Caleb Harp scoring 16 of his 18 points in the first half kept Dewey to stay ahead. The Doggers led 33-22 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 30-28 in the second half to secure the win. Stevie Payne finished with 13 points with 10 of those points in the second half and Alec Pierce added 12 points. The Doggers are now 12-7 overall.
Both the Doggers and Lady Doggers will have a busy week as they will play their final four games starting Tuesday night at Verdigris. Thursday's games will be at Rejoice Christian, Friday at Cleveland, and Saturday at home against Nowata.
