Diamond Doggers Keep Up Winning Ways

The Dewey Bulldoggers continued to roll with a convincing 17-9 victory over Caney Valley on Monday night. The Doggers have now won five consecutive ballgames after knocking out the No. 9 team in class 2A.

Dewey’s offense put up six runs in the first inning putting pressure on the Trojans pitching from the start and never let up. Every member of the Doggers starting lineup recorded a base hit. Dewey excelled in two-out situations as they were able to extend innings and light up the scoreboard.

Senior Blake Timmons returned from injury and put together a multi-hit game. Braden Mackie hit his first big fly of the season as a part of the Doggers offensive explosion.

Dewey eclipsed 10 runs in a game for the eighth time this season.

Dewey head coach Colby O’Donnell is very pleased to see the team hitting its stride during the back half of the schedule.

The Doggers will look for the sweep against Caney Valley on Tuesday. Dewey is 10-12 on the year with five games regular season games remaining.
