The Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball team continued its hot start with a 79-54 win over Missouri Valley College on Saturday. The Eagles have now won four game in a row to start off the season. OKWU held the Vikings to 36% from the field for the game as the defense once again set the tone.

The Eagles came out of the gate with energy despite playing on back-to-back days. OKWU led 17-6 within the first eight minutes of the game. Wesleyan made just one three-pointer in the first half but still managed to pull out to a 38-18 lead at the break. The Eagles were able to find easy buckets close to the rim all night long. It didn’t get much easier than this lob from Kaz Ammons to Jaden Lietzke.

Lietzke led the team with 16 points. Brandon Bird, Kaleb Stokes and Lense Ramey scored in double figures as well. The Eagles are 4-0 on the season and have just two game remaining before conference play begins.

The OKWU women’s team won on the road at Baker 58-49. Makayla Watkins led the team with 18 points.
