Indians Back in Kansas on Tuesday

The Doenges Ford Indians are right back after it on Tuesday evening for another road double-header in the state of Kansas.

Bartlesville plays a couple more games in Pittsburg at Jaycee Ballpark. The Tribe is 14-17 after a 3-2 weekend at the Glen Winget Tournament at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

The improvement for Bartlesville comes as the Indians have started to solidify their starting pitching into the back half of the summer.

Recent additions of Nate Herchock, Random Jones and Clayton Hill have helped. However, Indians manager John Pannell can also count in increased innings from Dakota Ward, Bradee Rigdon, Mason Moody and others.

When the season started most Bartlesville pitchers had not thrown as much as a bullpen in nearly three months because of the coronavirus.

Over the Indians last 10 games, Bartlesville has walked 41 batters in nearly 60 innings, a much better total than earlier in the season. The Tribe’s staff ERA is 3.96 in that span, with 43 strikeouts.

Pannell says that starting in early June with only a handful of practices under their belt did make things an adventure early on.

First pitch from Pittsburg at 6:00 PM for a double-header. We will carry both those games on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
