The BHS girl's basketball team is picking up right where it left last season off - as a top-10 team in Oklahoma.

Bartlesville High split its final day of games in the Broken Arrow Tournament on Saturday.

The BHS boys fell to Putnam City, 82-56. The Pirates raced ahead of Bartlesville early and never looked back. The Bartlesville boys are 1-3 to begin the year.

It was on the girl’s side where BHS really shined. Bartlesville took home the Broken Arrow Classic title on Saturday evening, blowing out Moore 43-25. The Lady Bruins led by 10 at halftime but extended that lead into the 20s within the first few minutes of the fourth quarter thanks to Erin Shoemaker,

Jena' Williams was named tournament MVP. The junior point guard was Bartlesville’s leading scorer for the event. Avery Allen was also named to the all-tournament team.

The BHS girls are 4-0 on the young season.

Bartlesville has its home opener on Tuesday evening against Muskogee. Girl's tip at 6:30 with the boy's to follow around 8:00 on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
