Multiple Local Teams Competing for Tournament Championships

Friday was an eventful night of hoops for area teams in tournament play. Three local teams earned victories and will compete for tournament championships on Saturday.

The Lady Bruins got a narrow victory over 4A No. 2 Fort Gibson on Friday night, 42-37. The Lady Bruins move to 14-0 to start the season. They will take on Midwest City for the title..

Out in Jay the Dewey Bulldoggers earned their second win on the tournament taking out Seneca, MO 70-65. The Doggers will take on the host, 4A No. 16 Jay, for the title this evening. Dewey is currently riding an eight-game winning-streak.

But wait there’s more:

Up in Miami, Nowata is cruising through the NEO tournament. The Ironmen dismantled a talented Wyandotte team, 93-62. Nowata will play Hulbert for a championship today as well. The Ironmen are hot as well having won their last seven games.

Also, the Bartlesville boys’ team was able to snap a five game losing streak with convincing win over on Pembroke Hill, 77-48. The Bruins will take on Washburn Rural In the fifth place game of the Saints Classic from Overland Park, Kansas. You can hear Mike Fell on the call on KWON AM 1400—FM 93.3.
