New-Look Doenges Downtown

You may have noticed a new color scheme to a historic downtown landmark over the past couple of weeks.

Painting of the exterior of Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium is finally complete, as Bartlesville Public Schools wanted to update the look. No longer is the red-paint on the outside, as the outside is a darker gray.

BHS Athletic and Activities Director Thad Dilbeck says when the decision was made to paint the stadium, they wanted it to match other facilities close to campus.

The painting of Doenges is the latest in a long line of improvements that BPS has made to the stadium since it took control of the property. Most notably, turf on the infield and soon new batting cages will be erected.

The stadium was built in 1931.
