Nowata Ironmen Starts Football Season With Vian
The Nowata Ironmen will kickoff their 2015 football season tonight as they will host the Vian Wolverines for the first Zero Week game. The Ironmen went 14-1 last season and finished runner-up in the Class 2A state championship game against Davis. Meanwhile, Vian lost to Nowata in the second round of the Class 2A Playoffs and finished with an 8-4 record. Ironmen head coach Matt Hagebusch says the game will come down as who will make fewer mistakes.
Tonight's game marks the sixth time these two schools have met with Nowata leading the series 3-2, including last year's 38-15 and 33-27 victories against Vian. Kickoff is at 7 o'clock. You can hear tonight's game on KRIG 104.9 FM starting at 6:30. Adam Hooper and Tim Howell will have the call.
