Nowata Splits With Chouteau

It was Homecoming Friday for Nowata as they took on Chouteau.  The boys quest to upset the Wildcats came up short as Chouteau won 53-40.  The Wildcats are ranked sixth in Class 2A and improved to 18-0 on the year.  Meanwhile, the Ironmen fall to 8-9 this season.  Matt Price led Nowata with 16 points, scoring 11 in the second half.

It was a total team effort for the Nowata Lady Ironmen as they pounded the Lady Cats 71-48.  Four Nowata players scored in double figures.  Kennedy Downing came off the bench and led with 19 points.  Reva Smith finished with 15 points and Halley Hewitt added 14 points.  Emily Beldon scored her season high 13 points.  With the victory, the Lady Ironmen are 6-10 on the year. 

Next up for the Ironmen and Lady Ironmen will be Saturday afternoon at Salina.  Boys will play at 2 o'clock while the girls will play at 3:30.
