OKWU Baseball Falls Short To Rogers State

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team travelled to Claremore Tuesday afternoon as they took on Rogers State University.  The Hillcats picked up the win 9-7.

The Eagles led 5-3 going into the bottom of the fourth when RSU scored two runs to tie the game at five. OKWU scored one run in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead.  The Hillcats took the lead for good by scoring two runs in the fifth to take a 7-6 lead.  RSU would score a run in the sixth and score an insurance run in the eighth to take the game.  Jeffrey Deavenport took the loss.  In just one inning of work, Deavenport gave up three runs on three hits.  Both teams hit the ball well.  OKWU had 17 hits and RSU had 14 hits. Errors cost OKWU as they committed five.  Chris Tapia, who was named KCAC Baseball Player of the Week, went 3 for 5 with a homerun and four RBI's.  Will Price went 3 for 5.

The Eagles fall to 26-6 overall and will resume KCAC play this Friday and Saturday at McPherson College.
