The Eagles are tournament bound as a No. 1 seed. Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball learned that it will be the top seed in the Henderson, Tennessee Regional of the NAIA National Tournament as the brackets were revealed on Thursday afternoon. This is the third consecutive season that OKWU has been named a No. 1 seed.

Eagles head coach Kirk Kelley said he was very excited for his team to earn the top designation.

Freed-Hardeman University is the host for the regional but is the No. 2 seed. FHU is the same team that defeated the Eagles twice in last year’s regional to knock the Eagles out of the tournament prematurely. Kelley says the Eagles won’t dwell on last season.

Wesleyan will await the winner of Concordia, Nebraska and Clarke, Iowa in their opening game on Monday. Texas Wesleyan is the other squad in the five-team regional.

OKWU enters the tournament with a 43-9 record a 16-game winning streak. The Eagles have a strong core of players returning from the previous two tournament runs. OWKU most recently appeared in the NAIA World Series in 2017.

We will have continued coverage of OKWU baseball in the postseason.
