OKWU Baseball Splits With Bobcats

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team split a double header with College of the Ozarks Friday afternoon at OKWU baseball field.  The Eagles lost game one 22-7 but came back in game two with a 3-2 win.

College of the Ozarks pounded the Eagles in game one scoring six runs in the top of the fourth, six runs in the top of the sixth, and eight runs in the top of the eighth to run-rule OKWU.  As a team, the Eagles committed seven errors.  Hugo Lemus took the loss on the mound.  In over three innings of work, Lemus gave up six runs on five hits, walked four, and struck out three.  At the plate, Will Price went 2 for 3 with a RBI, while Avery Flores, David Espinoza, Austin Murphy, and Brandon Cummings each got a hit.

It was different in the second game.  OKWU and C of O were tied at two going into the bottom of the seventh when Austin Murphy singled to right to bring home Jeff Butler for the winning run.  Avery Flores went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI while David Espinoza also hit a double.

The Eagles are 25-7 overall and 7-3 in MCAC play.  Both teams will play Saturday afternoon at OKWU Field.
