OKWU Baseball Sweep Hillsdale Baptist

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team got out of conference play Monday as they host Hillsdale Baptist College at Doenges Stadium.  The Eagles extended their winning streak to six games as they swept HBC 14-0 and 11-1.

In the first game, the Eagles jumped out early, scoring seven of their 14 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The Eagles out hit Hillsdale 15-1.  Hugo Lemus got the win on the mound as he pitched an one-hit shutout and struck out four batters.  Brendan Garafola went 2 for 4 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's.  Will Price went 3 for 5 with a couple of RBI's.  Trevor Achenbach went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's while Scott Weaver went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.  Asa Manship went 2 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBI's and Mikey Ortega went 3 for 3 at the plate.

In the second game, the Eagles bats got hot again as they out hit HBC 14-2.  Chase Broeske got the win on the mound, giving up a run on two hits and struck out three batters.  Weaver and Manship each got two hits while Alejandro Hernandez went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's.  Price and Garafola each had two hits and 2 RBI's.  

The Eagles are now 34-17 overall and will close out the regular season this weekend as they will host Sterling College.
