OKWU Baseball Sweeps Central Christian Series

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team completes a four-game weekend sweep at Central Christian Saturday afternoon 9-0 and 18-2.  

In the first game, the Eagles got off to a hot start by scoring five of their nine runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.  The Eagles out hit Central Christian 11-5.  C.J. Gregory got the win on the mound.  In eight innings of work, Gregory gave up four hits and struck out five.  Jalan Jackson went 2 for 2 and Austin Murphy went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.  Jeff Butler, David Espinoza, Will Price, Brandon Cummings, John Davenport, Mason Stookey, and Gunner Joyce each got a hit.

OKWU continued to play hot in the second game as they scored five runs in the top of the second and five more runs in the top of the sixth to complete the weekend series.  The Eagles out hit Central Christian 16-9.  Errors cost Central Christian as they committed five errors.  Aaron Garner got the win for OKWU as he gave up two runs on eight hits.  David Espinoza went 3 for 4 with a homerun and 4 RBI's while Zair Koeiman went 2 for 3 with a double.  

The Eagles are 23-6 overall and 6-2 in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.  Next up for OKWU is a trip to Muskogee to take on Bacone College on March 24th.
