OKWU Baseball Take 2 From Bellevue

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball is off to a good start in a four-game set at Bellevue as number eight OKWU won 7-2 and 4-2 to the Bruins, ranked 14th in the NAIA.

In the first game, it was tied at 1 going into the top of the 10th and that's when OKWU came alive, scoring six runs to pick up the victory.  Hugo Lemus got the win on the mound, giving up a run on nine hits, walked three, and struck out three Bellevue batters.  Jeff Butler and Zair Koeiman went 2 for 4 at the plate.

In the second game, it came down to the final inning as the Eagles broke a two-all tie and scored two runs in the top of the 7th to get the first day sweep.  Sam Hayes picked up the win on the mound. In six innings of work, Hayes gave up two runs on seven hits.  At the plate, David Espinoza went 2 for 4 with a RBI while Will Price went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

The Eagles are now in first place in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference play.  OKWU is now 36-7 overall and 15-3 in the MCAC.  Both teams will play a double header Saturday afternoon at Bellevue.
