OKWU Baseball Take 3 of 4 Games Against C of O

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team took 3 of 4 weekend games  against College of the Ozarks.  Eagles completed the sweep Saturday afternoon by the scores of 8-7 and 7-0.

In the first game, the Bobcats scored three runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at seven a piece. The Eagles responded in the bottom of the ninth as Zair Koeiman singled to left to bring home Connor Finkhouse the winning run.  Cody Stafford in relief of starter CJ Gregory got the win on the mound.   David Espinoza went 2 for 5 at the plate with two doubles and a RBI while Jeff Butler and Zair Koeiman each got two hits.

The Eagles continued their winning ways in the second game scoring four of their seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to complete the Saturday sweep.  Aaron Garner got the win on the mound. At the plate, Brandon Cummings went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI while John Davenport went 3 for 3.  Avery Flores went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI's while Austin Murphy and Zair Koeiman each got two hits, a double, and a RBI.

OKWU improves to 27-7 overall and 9-3 in MCAC play.  Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Wichita, Kansas to take on Friends University on March 31st.
