OKWU Basketball Travels To Ottawa

Oklahoma Wesleyan will make a trip north to Kansas for a tough conference battle with Ottawa University. The 20th-ranked Eagles are trying to rebound after a heartbreaking one-point loss on the road to St. Mary last Saturday.

Both teams find themselves in the middle of the pack in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with 3-2 records. Ottawa has a reputation for being a difficult place to get a road victory.

Eagle head coach Donnie Bostwick says his team must cherish every possession to avoid a third straight road loss.

The Eagles have been able to lean on Isaak Rowe in the last few games as he has posted back-to-back double-doubles against Sterling and St. Mary. Rowe’s defensive efforts have shined as well leading him being honored as the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles have hit their stride lately with back-to-back narrow victories over conference opponents. Both of the Lady Eagles two losses this season have been on the road, which will make an already tough game with the Lady Braves even more challenging.

The 8-2 Lady Eagles will take the court at 6 o’clock from Ottawa with the men’s game to follow. We will have coverage of both games on your home for Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball 99.1 FM—KPGM.
