Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball will have another chance to avenge a loss to a team that knocked them off last season. Avila University, the newest member of the Kansas Collegiate Conference beat the Eagles men’s team last season in a non-conference game. However, this was before star forward Josh Wilchcombe was eligible to play. Wilchcombe currently averages a double-double on the season.

Eagle head coach Donnie Bostwick thinks Wilchcombe’s success has come in part because the team clears out the paint by putting shooter’s on the wings.

The Eagles are shooting 40% from three-point range this season. OKWU is 12-0 on the season. The Eagles jumped up one spot to No. 3 in the latest coach’s poll released this week.

The Lady Eagles are struggling as conference play continues. OKWU has lost four consecutive games after a solid start. The Lady Eagles are 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

OKWU will be also be without their head coach Mark Molder who is currently on personal. Molder didn’t coach the team’s game last Wednesday at Tabor College. Grace Hadley will serve as the interim coach.

The Eagle basketball doubleheader against Avila will tipoff at 6 p.m. Radio coverage can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM.
