The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles opened up the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament with a bang as they knocked off Tabor, 114-to-86 in the quarterfinals on Friday night.

The Eagles put together their best offensive ballgame of the season in the win shooting 60% from the floor and converting 21 three-pointers.

The game started out close in a high-scoring battle. OKWU led 43-to-40 with two minutes left in the first half and they took off on an 11-to-3 run before the break. Breiman Alexander started his outside barrage knocking down a trio of three-pointers in that stretch.

With an eleven-point lead at the break the Eagles would shoot out of a cannon in the second half. OKWU would go on a 16-to-5 run to start second half to advance the lead past twenty points.

Alexander would continue to dominate as he hit nine three-pointers on the way to a season-high 34 points. Isaac Rowe played phenomenally as well scoring 21 points, adding on 11 rebounds and seven assists. Elbert Lawrence and K.J. Malveau were also in double figures.

The Eagles advance to the semifinals and will play Friends on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

The Lady Eagles will also be in action in the KCAC semifinals on Saturday with a matchup against Tabor at 2:00 p.m.

Both teams will look to punch their tickets to the KCAC championship game on Monday in Wichita. These games can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM.
