OKWU Softball Splits With Central Baptist

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles Softball team split with Central Baptist Tuesday afternoon winning the first game 3-2, but Central Baptist took the second game run-ruled OKWU 12-1 in five innings at Bartlesville.  

In the first game, the Lady Eagles took advantage and out hit Central Baptist 9-3.  OKWU's Jenna Daniel went the distance and got the win.  In seven innings of work, Daniel gave up two runs on three hits, walked four, and struck out one Central Baptist batter.  At the plate, Hannah Sharum went 3 for 4 while Mayan Meza Toyer went 2 for 4 with two RBI's.  Courtney Gilliland, Heather Jones, Selena Lopez, and Katelyn Cook each got a hit.

It was different in the second game as Central Baptist scored five of their 12 runs in the top of the first inning and run-ruled the Lady Eagles.  Central Baptist out hit OKWU 13-2.  Jenna Daniel who won the first game took the loss in game two.  In an inning of work, Daniel gave up five runs on six hits. Courtney Gilliland and Hannah Sharum each got a hit.

The Lady Eagles are 15-16 overall and 4-2 in MCAC play.  Next games for Oklahoma Wesleyan will be on April 7th as they will host Oklahoma City University.
