Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles and Lady Eagles split a double header Monday night against Friends University in a KCAC showdown.  Lady Eagles lost 75-63 while the Eagles pulled off their biggest win of the year defeating the Falcons 86-84.

The Lady Eagles strong effort against the Lady Falcons came up short as the pressure defense against Friends gave OKWU some problems.  Lady Eagles shot 33 percent from the field, but out rebounded Friends 47-43.  OKWU committed 11 turnovers compared to the Lady Falcons nine turnovers.  Shelbie Kirby led with 12 points while Tiffany Rieger added 10 points.  Friends Shann Sellers led with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.  Lady Eagles fall to 11-15 overall and 7-11 in KCAC play.

Breiman Alexander was the hero in the mens game as he made an off balance 10-footer with 2.1 seconds to play to give the Eagles the win by two points.  Alexander led with 32 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Alexander also made six 3-pointers.  AJ Jack finished with 22 points and five rebounds.  The Eagles shot 47 percent from the field.  OKWU sweeps Friends in the regular season series.  The Eagles improve to 11-14 overall and 8-10 in KCAC play.

Both the Eagles and Lady Eagles have a long road trip later this week as they will play at York College on Thursday and play at Bethel on Saturday.  On Thursday, the ladies will play at 5 o'clock while the men will play at 7 o'clock.
