OKWU To Play For NCCAA Regional Championship

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball will be playing for the NCCAA Regional Championship Saturday afternoon at Shawnee as they will take on Oklahoma Baptist University.  The Eagles will have to beat the Bison twice to win the regional title.  OKWU played two games on Friday, lost 8-0 to OBU and eliminated Dallas Christian 10-9.

Dallas Christian led 6-0 going into the bottom of the second inning when the Eagles scored three runs to cut the led 6-3.  Dallas Christian came back scoring two runs in the top of the third to take an 8-3 lead.  The Eagles then scored two runs in the bottom of the third  to cut Dallas Christian's lead 8-5.  OKWU came back scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to take a 9-8 lead.  Dallas Christian tied the game at nine in the top of the eighth and forced the Eagles to come back.  OKWU scored the game winning run in the bottom of the eighth and held Dallas Christian scoreless in the ninth to pick up the victory.  Landon Williams picked up the win on the mound to improve to 3-1.  In five innings of work, Williams gave up a run, one hit, and struck out three batters.  Sam Haynes picked up his seventh save.  Trevor Achenbach went 4 for 5 at the plate with a home run and a RBI while Will Price went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBI's.

First pitch between the Eagles and OBU is scheduled for Noon.
