Round one of the high school football playoffs took place on Friday, and we had a mixed night across the area – with some local teams falling, but some teams over to the west of Bartlesville having a big night.

Nowata, Dewey and Oklahoma Union all played their final football games of the season, here are the finals: Nowata fell at Beggs 62-28. Dewey fell at Adair 58-6. Pawhuska took care of Oklahoma Union 52-6.

With the victory, the Huskies will advance to take on undefeated Stroud on Friday night in the second round of the Class A postseason. Head coach Matt Hennesy says there are still some things his club can work on.

We will have a ton more coverage on Pawhuska-Stroud later on this week. That ballgame will be Friday night at Stroud and will be broadcasted on your home for Pawhuska football – 99.1 FM – KPGM.

The final Friday result saw Barnsdall moving on to round No. 2. The Panthers beat up on Commerce as an underdog, 33-7.

Barnsdall will take on Gore on the road this Friday night also in round two of the Class A playoffs.

More on both those Osage County clubs in the postseason later on this week.
