The University of Oklahoma has started its search for the Sooner’s next football coach. OU’s president athletic director and interim head coach met with the media on Monday afternoon to talk about the job opening.

The college football world was surprised when Lincoln Riley agreed to leave Norman to become the head man at Southern California on Sunday afternoon, less than 20-hours after a loss to Oklahoma State in Bedlam, ending the Sooners streak of Big 12 Championships.

Bob Stoops is back as interim head coach with the Sooners, helping with recruiting and coaching the team until the bowl game.

Stoops says this is still Oklahoma, and the Sooners will be fine.

There continues to be fallout from the decision. OU has lost six four and five star commitments from recruits in the classes of 2022 and 2023. Quarterback Spencer Rattler and starting wide out Jordan Haselwood both announced their intention to transfer yesterday, as well.

As far as replacements, a lot of names have been thrown out. Reports state that Clemson Associate Head coach and Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables was in Norman yesterday.
