Tabor College Ends OKWU Eagles Season

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles basketball season came to a close Wednesday evening at Hillsboro, Kansas as Tabor College survived with a 92-91 overtime win in the first round of the KCAC Tournament.  

Eagles Breiman Alexander made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 82 with two seconds left.  Blue Jays missed a half court shot that could have won the game.  In overtime, Tabor outscored the Eagles 10-9. The Blue Jays turned the ball over on a length of the court pass with seconds left.  Eagles Jake Feickert fell down, tossed the ball to Alexander, missed a shot that could have won the contest.  OKWU played their hearts out throughout the game and led for most of the contest.  There were 17 lead changes.  Eagles led as many as 11 points.  Meanwhile, Tabor led as many as five points.  OKWU dominated the boards, out rebounded the Blue Jays 46-41.  Of those 46 rebounds, 21 were offensive boards.  The Eagles shot 44 percent from the field while Tabor shot 47 percent.  Alexander led with 26 points while Feickert added 13 points.  Pat Everett finished with 10 points and Ryan Schuessler added 10 points.  

Eagles end the season with a 13-17 record.  Most of this year's team will return next year.
