Despite the loss in the finals of its own tournament Caney Valley remains the No. 16 team in the OSSAA Rankings in Class 2A. The Trojans rebounded nicely with two wins on Wednesday, knocking off Wyandotte, 14-6, and Riverton, Kansas, 8-5.

The Trojans put up a ten-spot in third inning of the win over Wyandotte. The offensive explosion resulted in the run-rule shortened victory. Luke Lakey had three hits and Trent Gagan had two RBIs. The duo also pitched well to lead the Trojans to the victory.

The offense continued steadily in the second game of the day as well. The Trojans are currently 6-2 on the season. Caney Valley continues to boast on of the best offenses in the area with 8.6 runs per game.

The Trojans are next in action on Friday against Oklahoma Union.
