Workouts Going Well for Doggers

The Dewey Bulldoggers football is into its second week of workouts in preparation for the 2020 season. Head coach Trent Turner is pleased with the turnout as 40-50 are coming out to get in shape for each session. Turner says preparing for the season is great but he was most excited about getting time with his players.

The Doggers had talked about doing a team camp in June and possibly some seven-on-seven days but ultimately decided to keep everything on their campus. Turner says the decision was made in the best interests of his players and for the community as well. The second-year coach doesn’t think his team will be disadvantaged without these football activities.

Dewey will lose out on some time for new starters to familiarize themselves with each other, especially on offense. The Doggers will have new faces at quarterback, running back and a few receiver spots. Dewey will continue with weights and conditioning through the month of June and then re-evaluate their plan in July.
