Young Bruin Golf Team Eyes Improvement

The Bartlesville High golf team has only one senior for the 2018 season, so learning on the fly will be important over the next two months.

The Bruins have only one tournament to this point, the Jenks Invitational at Stone Creek. BHS shot a 345 as a team, which is about 15-20 strokes behind where head coach Jeff Rude would like his team to be.

Rude wants his club to focus on their short game, as he counted too many three-puts during that first tournament. Here is Rude talking about putting.

The slow start isn’t unexpected, BHS's lone senior is Matt Russell, who didn’t have a great day at Jenks. Carson Rainbolt was the Bruins low scorer.

Bruin golf is off for spring break, Bartlesville will be back in action on Tuesday at Sand Springs.
