Phil Weaver
Music & Fun
phil@bartlesvilleradio.com
Sharing music, information,
and laughs with his radio audiences is what Phil has happily
been doing since 1963. "Even though I'm not accomplishing
something as meaningful as saving lives through
brain surgery, I feel I've helped a little bit when a
listener calls and says I brightened their day by some
silly thing I've said. Actually, a number of years
ago, I did perform 'simulated' brain surgery on-the-air on
one of my fellow announcers. Unfortunately, he's still
not quite right," Phil says. Phil, from Paola,
Ks, and his wife Lynn, from Leavenworth, Ks, moved their young
family west to Garden City, Ks in 1966, after receiving their
degrees from the University of Kansas. Phil was
a Western Kansas broadcast fixture for over 30 years as he
and Lynn reared 4 children. Eventually, to be nearer
their family, the Weavers moved to Bartlesville, where their
daughter Jennifer lives with her husband Chuck Tate, of Tate
Boys Tire, and their children Carlee & Clay. While
Phil is on-the-air, his wife Lynn keeps busy as a Registered
Mammography Technologist at Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Their son Mike drives the big rigs out of Springfield,
Mo, where he lives with his wife Melodee. Meanwhile,
Phil & Lynn's twins have gone different directions.
Darren, his wife MJ, and daughters Jaslynn & Jenna, live
in Tyler, Tx, where Darren is a programmer for Brookshires,
a grocery company. His twin sister Stephanie Longoria
is permanently stationed in Washington, DC, as a saxophonist
in the Navy Band. She lives with her son Jacob in Alexandria,
Va. Phil & Lynn are members of the church of Christ,
and love living in Bartlesville, and being closer to their
children & grandchildren |

more small towns than he can remember (not being as young
as he used to be, you see) as well as big markets like Houston
and Dallas-Fort Worth. Even though Bob has never lived outside

as far away as China, through his work over the years with

Jim
Casey
Afternoons on KRIG
Jim
Casey is the afternoon host of Citadel Media's Real Country.
Jim admits that he decided on a career in radio when he was
younger because it seemed like "a fun and easy job."
"A junior high school speech teacher told me that I had
a good voice for radio," he recalls. "I thought,
‘Well, that isn't really working – I could do that!'"
Although he's entertaining on the air, Jim is serious when
talking about his 20-year radio career. In addition to being
part of the Citadel Media's Country air staff since the mid
‘80s, he programmed KKYX-AM in San Antonio. This station is
legendary for its signal that covered all of South Texas.
More than 30 years later, Jim has changed his opinion about
the difficulty of working in radio. "It sounds easy to
be on the air," Jim says. "But it's a hard thing
to learn to do." Hard work doesn't prevent Jim
from having fun on the air. Listeners who tune into the program
are likely to get lots of laughs, along with their country
music favorites. |

Linda
Flores
Evenings on KRIG

has stayed in her home state of Texas for most of her career
working for historic, broadcasting icons, iconic
(take your pick of adjectives!) call letters like KILT, KVIL,
KLTY and KSCS. "I love talking about the stories behind
the songs, getting the listeners closer to the artists and
the songwriters. And since I'm on the in evening, it's like
we're just sitting on the back porch catchng up on the day."
Linda has been nominated for various awards from R & R,
Gavin, Radio Music Awards, Billboard and the country industry
magazine, Music Row named her "one of country radio's
top decision makers." Featured in country music features
