As 2025 comes to a close we continue to look at some of the top sports stories from the year.

Today, we rewind back to early October and look back on Dewey volleyball's first ever appearance in the state tournament.

The Lady Bulldoggers finished 2025 with an overall record of 23-8, earning the No. 8 overall seed in the state in 3A.

Dewey had to escape past their home regional to punch their ticket to state. They beat Corn Bible Academy in the regional championship match in five sets to qualify. Head coach Hayley Harris talked about the comeback to win the title.

A season ago, Dewey won just 11 matches all season. Their season came to a close last year in the first round of regionals against Chisholm in straight sets. Harris talked about her team's journey.

Dewey's historic season came to a close in the opening round of the 3A state tournament to Metro Christian.
