Thoughts of Christmas in July can bring a little comfort to all of us in this Oklahoma summer heat. Appearing on KWON Radio's COMMUNITY CONNCTION, members of the Bartlesville Kiwanis Club revealed the theme for this year's Christmas Parade.

Kiwanians Pat Gamble and Waymond White announced the 2026 theme: Christmas in our Country.  Waumond said, " It's not just Bartlesville, but for our entire country. It can go from coast to coast. Ideas of things that have been going on in our country for two hundred and fifty years."

Pat said, "Because it's the 250th anniversary of our country, we kind of wanted to marry that with the parade as an idea. But it's not just patriotic.A float can be farmland. It can be a national monument like the Statue of Liberty or Mount Rushmore or even a local icon such as Price Tower in Bartlesville. If you're only  limited by your own creativity." Pat added, "it's a nighttime parade. So all entries have to be lighted to be seen. And there's only one Santa Claus, so no Santa replicas."

The parade is set for Saturday, December 5th. Staging starts at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Phillips parking lot so people can come bring their floats early if they have some last minute construction to do or lighting or getting things ready. Judging begins at 4:30pm with the parade stepping off at 6:30pm.

The Kiwanis first Christmas Parade planning meeting is August 6th at Bambino's. If you are interested in volunteering, you may join the meeting.
