It is another Thursday night full of high school football, as most every game, with one exception, has been moved to this evening because of the possibility of rain on Friday night.

Bartlesville High will host Ponca City in the biggest home game for the Bruins in a couple of seasons. The winner between BHS and the Wildcats will have an inside track to a home playoff game and a top-half finish in 6A-II District 2.

As far as the movement of the game, the decision game down late on Tuesday afternoon. Head coach Harry Wright talks about how the program and the school decided to move the contest.

As far as the game itself, Ponca City and Bartlesville both enter at 1-3 in District play. Both teams have contests against the bottom two in the District the next two weeks - So it stands to figure that this game will be for the 4th position.

Ponca City is much improved in the Wildcat’s second season under head coach Justin Roland. They run a hybrid type of offense between a wing-T and a spread style.

Wright talks about how to defend it.

Bartlesville beat Ponca City on the road a season ago, capturing the ConocoPhillips Bowl Trophy for the first time since 2019. The Bruins have won three of the last five.

Wright says he expects it to be a good evening.
