Best of 2025: BHS Swim Excels Again
It is time again to look at some of the best sports stories of 2025, as we continue to look at the top local sports stories from the past calendar year.
Now we will go all the way back to February and March, as the Bartlesville swim team again had a fantastic season under former OSSAA coach of the year Chad Englehart
The Lady Bruins and Bruins both finished second at 6A State, taking home numerous gold medals.
The girls finished just behind Jenks and had entered the 2025 meet as the defending 6A State Champions.
Junior Addison Howse set a State Record for the girls 100 backstroke en route to a gold medal. Anna Young also had two golds.
Heading into the State meet Englehart talked about Bartlesville’s chances.
The Bartlesville guys did not grab any individual golds but still got second via great performances from Luke Olsen and Parker Shoesmith, both of which had silver medals on the day.
Going into State Englehart talked about the expectations for both teams.
Both of the BHS swim teams taking second at 6A State, one of the best sports stories locally from this past calendar year.
