BHS Slow Pitch Begins State Tuesday

Bartlesville High slow pitch softball kicks off the 6A State Tournament on Tuesday morning.
BHS will face Southmoore at 11:30 this morning from the FireLake softball facility in Shawnee.
BHS won its own Regional over Muskogee last week to advance to slow pitch state for the third spring in a row. The only feat BHS softball has not crossed off the list yet – winning a game in State. Neither fastpitch nor slow pitch has won a game in the past four State tournaments the Bruins have qualified for.
Head coach Kyle Minton says getting a quick start at the plate will be key.
Today will be the final day for Minton as head softball coach at BHS. As KWON has reported earlier this spring, Minton is going to be an assistant athletic director for Bartlesville High starting next year, which means he will vacate his job as softball coach.
Bartlesville and Southmoore from Shawnee at 11:30.
The entire 6A State Tournament takes place in one day.
Should BHS win it will play at 4:00 against the winner of Mustang and Yukon.
