Copan will make a longer road trip to Webbers Falls now on Thursday night because of the possible weather on Friday.

The Hornets got a convincing win at Gans this past Thursday, 58-8.

It was a swift and encouraging result for Copan, which had not played a game in 20-days when the contest kicked off. Copan had a scheduled bye week then the game against Wesleyan Christian School was canceled.

Head coach Trenton Kallenberger says he was pleased with how his guys played after the extended time off.

Copan was Gans were tied at 8 after the first two possessions of the game. Kallenberger said he was concerned that his team’s defensive intensity might not be good enough. However, Copan pitched a shutout the rest of the way and outscored the Grizzlies 50-0.

Kallenberger credited his seniors for quickly getting the bunch on track.

Webbers Falls is a big one.

Kallenberger said it could determine who hosts a first-round playoff game out of Class B-II District-4. Especially with another tough game against Wilson on the horizon.
