The OKWU Eagles made the 1 hour 40-minute trip to Winfield, Kansas to do battle the Moundbuilders of Southwestern College. We’ll start on the girls side first, the ladies jumped out to a huge 28-8 lead in the game and never looked back.

The Lady Eagles cruised in this one to win, 85-72. This is the first time the Lady Eagles have scored 80-pts in a game this season, and it propelled them to grab their 8th win of the season. Shadé Richardson had a career-type day for OKWU, as she grabbed a season-high in points with 19 off the bench including this and-one in the second half.

On the guys side, it was a nail-biter that would not be decided until the final 12-seconds of the contest. The guys would use a career high from DJ Talton Jr who finished with 32 points to grab the two-point win, 70-68. DJ scored 20 of his 32 in the second half.

Eagle men hold off the Jinx in the final seconds as the final shot to tie was no good for the Moundbuilders. OKWU grabbed the two-point win and grab their 14th straight win. The win also snapped an 8-game win streak for Southwestern. OKWU retains sole possession of the first seed in the KCAC.

Both teams will be back on Saturday at home when they host the Tabor Blue Jays.
