Great Saturday for Bruin Basketball

Bartlesville High hoops probably had its best day of the season, as the Lady Bruins took third place in the ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational with an upset win over Broken Arrow. Meanwhile the Bruin guys also went 2-1 on the weekend with a win over 6A Yukon.
On the guy’s side, a nip and tuck game throughout went to the Bruins on late-game heroics. Bartlesville beat Yukon 51-50. The game put the BHS guys in fifth place in the event.
Down by one in the final seconds senior Dennis Duncan would get the eventual game winner.
Following the runner Bartlesville would get a defensive stop to win it and Sutton Huff got a critical rebound.
On the girl’s side, Bartlesville was able to take care of Broken Arrow, 37-34.
It was a low-scoring grind of a game. Bartlesville used an 11-3 run late in the second quarter to take the lead for good.
This Sami Shaeffer put back helped BHS pull away in the final minutes.
BHS girls also finish at 2-1 for the weekend.
Bruin guys are 5-7, Lady Bruins are 7-5. B
oth teams host Capitol Hill on Tuesday in another District double-header.
