Indians Baseball Advances to State Finals
The Doenges Toyota Indians advanced to the state legion tournament finals with a 15-5 win over the Ada Braves on Friday night.
The Indians won it in run-rule fashion in five innings.
Bartlesville's bats stayed hot from start to finish. The Indians scored four runs in the top of the first inning. This three-run home run from Kamen Sprague got the offense started early.
The Indians never let up offensively, they struck for seven runs in the top of the fourth to increase the lead to double digits. This three-run single by Parker Garrison extended the lead to 11 runs.
Bartlesville finished the night with 11 hits. Garrison, Rhett Leu, Nate Sloan and Jaxon Zaun all finished with multiple hits. Lathe Griggs struck out three batters over 4.1 innings. Sprague recorded the final two outs to win the game.
The Indians advance to the finals of the tournament. They will need to win just one game to advance to regionals of the national legion tournament. They will play the winner of Marietta and Ada at 4:30 p.m.
