Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball will have a new head coach pacing the sidelines at the Mueller Sports Center this winter – and it is a name Eagle fans will remember.

Mark Molder is back for his third stint at Wesleyan women’s coach. Molder was with OKWU for nearly 12 seasons previously in multiple capacities.

Molder was an Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball standout as a player then was an assistant under men’s coach Donnie Bostwick in his first stint in Bartlesville.

When Bostwick departed Bartlesville in 2011, Molder was hired as head women’s coach, a job he held along with the title of Athletic Director at Wesleyan. He was women’s coach until 2014 when he moved to the men’s side as head coach.

He then switched back to the women’s team when Bostwick returned in 2017.

In total, Molder went 95-51 in two previous stints as head coach of the women’s team before stepping away in the middle of the 2018-2019 campaign.

Molder returns after the departure of head coach Heidi Messer, who is taking an assistant job at the NCAA Division I level at Loyola Chicago. Messer was at OKWU for four seasons.
