Nowata Football Getting Closer to First Scrimmage
The Nowata Ironmen are nearing the start of the regular season with fall camp in full swing.
Nowata, like all other high school football teams in the area, started fall practices last week to polish things up for kickoff.
After competing in a handful of 7-on-7 competitions at Sequoyah (Claremore) over the summer, Nowata will have two more chances later this month to get in front of live competition before kickoff in September. The Ironmen are off to a four-way scrimmage in Dewey on Aug. 21 and Catoosa for a second scrimmage on Aug. 27.

After spending the spring and summer focusing on improving off the field, Nowata has shifted more of the focus to on-the-field. Martin talks about the approach during the second week of fall camp.
The Ironmen open their season on the road for Warner on Sept. 4.
