Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball split with Bethany College on the road on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles fell, 64-53, the Eagles won a thriller, 83-81.

In the women's game, OKWU had to play catch-up early. Bethany made four three-pointers in the first quarter to jump ahead by 12. OKWU trailed by nine, 33-24, at the half.

The Lady Eagles trimmed the deficit down to two late in the third quarter but were unable to hop in front. This Khamille Warr bucket through contact started the run.

Warr finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 5-9 overall and 1-7 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

In the men's game, OKWU was met with hot outside shooting from the Swedes all afternoon. Bethany finished 14-26 from three-point range with six of them coming in the first half. Bethany led by as many 14 points in the first half, before OKWU went on an 18-3 run to take the lead. Bethany led 44-41 at the half.

The Eagles pulled ahead in the second half and did just enough to get the win. This steal by Jaden Wilson leading to a dunk by Tamaje Izuagbe helped stretch the lead.

Izuagbe finished with 18 points and four rebounds. He fouled out in the final four minutes.

The win puts the Eagles at 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the KCAC.

The OKWU men will return home on Monday night for Spurgeon College at 7 p.m. Coverage can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1.
