Oologah Football Building Toward Next Step

Spring football is underway across northeastern Oklahoma, and for Oologah head coach Sam Noble, the focus remains on steady growth and consistency. Noble said the program is preparing to replace several graduating seniors, but believes a strong returning senior class and an emerging group of younger players will keep the team moving in the right direction. After improving from a 2-8 season to a 4-6 record over the last two years, Noble said the expectation is to continue building on that progress heading into the 2026 season.

Noble emphasized that consistency and daily improvement have become the foundation of the program. He said the coaching staff continues to stress accountability and development, with players expected to improve “one percent better” each day. Oologah also expects help from a talented incoming freshman class, including several eighth graders who could contribute immediately. Noble highlighted a large offensive lineman and a versatile quarterback prospect among the group, while also noting the eighth grade team lost just one game last season.

The Mustangs will continue spring preparations with upcoming team camps and summer activities, including participation in Dewey’s team camp, passing leagues in Claremore, and a seven-on-seven event in Cushing. Noble said those opportunities will allow younger players to compete against outside competition and help the coaching staff evaluate where the team stands entering the summer. As the offseason continues, Noble said the message to players remains simple: success will depend on every player committing to the same level of work, consistency, and team-first mentality.
