Oologah Teams Split with Miami, Face Catoosa Tonight

Oologah’s basketball teams went 1-1 against Miami last Friday, with the Mustangs boys suffering a heartbreaking 51-50 loss while the Lady Mustangs cruised to a 54-15 win.

The boys trailed most of the game but briefly took the lead with 20 seconds remaining. Miami’s Sooter hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to steal the victory. “It was a tough one,” said boys coach Caleb Branscum. “It doesn’t get any easier tonight with 13-0 #8 Catoosa coming to town. We’re going to do our best to put four good quarters together and see what we can do.” The Mustangs are now 7-7 on the season.

The Lady Mustangs maintained a strong defensive effort and balanced offense to secure their win. “We need to continue to improve on our offensive execution, but I’m proud of our overall progress,” said Lady Mustangs coach Clif Warford. The team enters tonight’s game against Catoosa with an 8-6 record, aiming to maintain pressure on both ends of the court.

Both Oologah teams will host Catoosa tonigh at homet, looking to continue momentum and challenge the tough Catoosa squads.
